For EU goods, customs duty is generally not payable and VAT is usually not handled like a non-EU import.

This tool uses Sweden-style import rules: VAT is typically 25% for most goods, 12% for foodstuffs and works of art/collectors' items/antiques, and 6% for books and newspapers. Import VAT is calculated on the customs value plus customs duty. Customs duty rates are only estimates here because the real rate depends on the commodity code and origin of the goods.
For low-value consignments from outside the EU, customs duty may be waived in some cases, but VAT can still apply.
